Pervious
The SuDS Manual (C753) published by CIRIA in 2015, defines a pervious area as an: ‘Area of ground that allows infiltration of water, although some surface runoff may still occur.’
A pervious pavement is: ‘A surface that provides a pavement suitable for pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic while allowing rainwater to infiltrate through the surface and into the underlying structural layers’
A pervious surface is: 'A surface that allows inflow of rainwater into the underlying construction or soil.'
